How customers can sign up for a newsletter
Your customers can sign up for a newsletter in two ways:
- By completing the form in your store
- By signing up when placing an order
If your theme does not have a newsletter subscription field, then you can:
- Choose another theme
- Create a new one using our team builder
- Send us an email: email@example.com to add such a field or pop up. We will give you a praise appraisal based on the project you send us.
How to send messages
SumUp doesn’t provide a direct way to send newsletters to customers. To send one you need to have an account on one of the following platforms:

Integrating them with Online Store is very easy. Just install the appropriate integration.
Once you’ve merged Online Store with one of your marketing email providers, the subscribed customers will be on the right list, to which you can send messages.
How to offer a discount for the newsletter subscription
Create a discount voucher according to this article. When making a voucher, choose the option one voucher per customer. In this way, every customer will be able to take advantage of the discount once only. Then put this code in the welcome message, which is sent immediately after the customer signs up for the newsletter.
The double opt-in option allows you to verify your customer’s subscription to the mailing list. If store visitors enter their e-mail address, they will have to log in to their inbox and confirm the action by clicking on the automatically generated link.
The double opt-in option should be turned on in the GetResponse panel. Log in to your account > Select the list > Settings > Subscription> Require extra confirmations > Click on API subscriptions
If you want to enable the double opt-in option, in the Online Store panel go to add-ons > Mailchimp and select double opt-in and make sure you save the changes. Remember, if you have previously used the integration with MailChimp, check only the double opt-in checkbox. Do not change the list to which your customers signed up. Changing the list may cause the integration to work incorrectly.
